The Song

Hidden talent is being flushed out at Redeemer, at least partially. Below is a beautiful poem that will definitely touch your heart, written by an anonymous writer! “Margaret” deserves a standing ovation for this creative work, but sadly we cannot honour her as we do not know who “she” is. I’m sure all of Redeemer joins us in saying, "Margaret, come out to receive the credit that you deserve!"

ORIGINAL POEM
The Song
By MARGARET M.

One day a crow, he flew along,
When in his ears he heard a song.
Then with his eye he saw a sparrow.
He darted to her like an arrow.
Perched below, he turned his head,
To the sparrow he finally said,
“How do you sit and make all day
A song that drives the clouds away?
For I have tried and I have found
I cannot imitate that sound!
No matter how hard I try,
The song I sing makes babies cry!”

The sparrow turned right to the crow
And said, “There is one thing I know.
God made us both and loves us same
Though one of us may have more fame.
We both have jobs and mine’s to sing!
Joy to others I am to bring.
You, my dear, have other jobs,
So wipe your eyes and dry your sobs.
Listen to our Father’s voice
And then you will not have a choice
But to have joy all the day long
Though your calling is not song.”
